Baker Butler Elementary School (to read to the students), Charlottesville

I was able to visit Baker Butler Elementary School and educate the students about Autism.  The students were so interactive and loved telling me about their personal experiences with a child with Autism.

December 14, 2006 Conference with Michael McKee, Executive Director of the Virginia Institute of Autism

Emily and VIA student Camille. Camille is one of the most beautiful fun little girls I’ve ever met! There's nothing she loves more than a princess, except getting to wear the crown herself!

During my first VIA summer camp as a counselor, years ago, Dan was one of the campers! He's grown into such a gentle giant!

Alex was the reason I first developed my passion for Autism Advocacy. I started to baby-sit for him several years ago and have greatly enjoyed watching him grow into the intelligent, creative and determined fourth grader he is today!

Here I am reading with Santa to the kids at the Northside angel tree banquet.  This was such a great experience and I have never seen children more appreciative and knowledgeable about the true meaning of Christmas.

Here I am telling Santa my Christmas Wish List, with local titleholders from left to right: McKenna Rohm, Little Miss Albemarle; Lauren Hensley, Junior Miss Albemarle; Santa and Myself!

BFKS is not about bowling. It’s about HELPING KIDS! (But bowling is fun too!)

NASCAR FOUNDATION, Richmond International Raceway, Richmond, VA

Contestant were invited to help the NASCAR Foundation. We set up next to the "Nextel Vision/Nextel Cup" stage which is a HUGE display and attracted very large crowds.  Every fan attending the race passed through the area at some point during the day.  Ward Burton as well as the Special Olympics were there on Saturday. Ward was there signing autographs and there were other activities scheduled throughout the weekend. Unfortunately the race was cancelled due to rain and rescheduled for the next day.
