January 28, 2012 Mikaela was a guest speaker at The Diamond's House Youth Conference in Portsmouth. She is a teen speaker for suicide prevention and talks about her struggles with PTSD and depression. It was an amazing day, and after her talk we were amazed at the number of people both kids and adults that were truly touched by her story. She was also asked to participate in other upcoming events, and met a lot of wonderful people.

Mikaela was the Guest Speaker at The Girl Power United panel discussion. After her talk a young girl came up to her and told her how much Mikaela's talk meant to her and how she has also battled depresson. It is truly amazing how much our words can mean to someone else. With every struggle you survive you gain strength to battle the next one.
