The USO will send 10,000
care packages to our service men and women overseas. We salute

learned, field questions, and watch talents.

Phyllicia volunteered with
young ladies from Girl Power United
(www.girlpowerunited.org)
as they teamed up with Youth Matter,
Inc. (www.youthmatter.org)
to provide gifts to the residents of
the Sentara Nursing Center of
Portsmouth, VA - those in the
nursing center are elderly and need
care around the clock. We were able
to talk with many of the residents
and share a little Christmas joy and
presents with them.

Attended the Miss Oscar Smith High School
pageant. It was cool getting to see the girls compete - seeing the
difference between practice and the real thing. And it was nice knowing
that I "knew" each of the contestants because I had the opportunity to
do mock interviews with them beforehand. And that pageant always serves
as a reminder that dreams (dreams you don't even know you have yet)
really do come true. I placed 4th and 3rd RU in junior and senior years
at Smith...and look at me now.

"Run for the Dream" - a run/walk that raises funds for Achievable Dream
and Wounded Warriors.

a graduate of Purdue & IU, & a brother of Omega Psi Phi; then we have
Leigh who helped coordinate the Ambassadors of the event; and Justin -
great guy, very out going.

CMN Hospital Visit
I was able to take a tour of the Children's Miracle Network
Hospital in DC last Friday. I had a good time, my tour guide Katie and
tour coordinator Tracy were very kind & I am looking forward to serving
with them in the future. For all of you who have donated to CMN, your
money is doing some amazing things for these children and their
families. So, thanks!!
