Phyllicia volunteered with young ladies from Girl Power United (www.girlpowerunited.org) as they teamed up with Youth Matter, Inc. (www.youthmatter.org) to provide gifts to the residents of the Sentara Nursing Center of Portsmouth, VA - those in the nursing center are elderly and need care around the clock. We were able to talk with many of the residents and share a little Christmas joy and presents with them.

February 18, 2012 Attended the Miss Oscar Smith High School pageant. It was cool getting to see the girls compete - seeing the difference between practice and the real thing. And it was nice knowing that I "knew" each of the contestants because I had the opportunity to do mock interviews with them beforehand. And that pageant always serves as a reminder that dreams (dreams you don't even know you have yet) really do come true. I placed 4th and 3rd RU in junior and senior years at Smith...and look at me now. :) happy
